Deep tissue massages are a form of massage therapy focusing on deeper layers of muscles and connective tissues. Typically, during a first deep tissue massage, your massage therapist will use their hands and fingers to apply pressure to reach the deeper layers of soft tissue. You may experience sensations of discomfort or pain as your therapist uses deep pressure to work out the knots and tension in your muscles.
